Hello sweet friends. Thanks for popping by to take a look at my most recent project.
I picked this lovely stand-up jewellery cabinet on Facebook Marketplace last year and I had in mind to paint it some bold colours that were blended in a gradient way. Once I got started, I wasn't feeling it so decided to go down a safer path.
I thought I had a "before" photo of this but I can't find it in my files. Let's suffice to say that it was a yellowy brown colour and was b-o-r-i-n-g as heck!
I wanted to give this a lovely vintage feel so added a Prima Re-design transfer called Floral Home. This has 4 different images and I cut away the frame that was around the roses and wording because it would have been too big. I'll use the frame for another project, I'm sure.
Here is a closer look at the transfer.
I also added some WoodUbend moulding (WUB 2181). I cut one set down a little for the top and the full scrolls on the bottom. I decided not to add any Posh Chalk patina or pigment to the moulding as I didn't want to take away from the image or the gold handles, which I did paint with Lemon Gold pigment mixed with Infusor. The scrolls and luxury coatings can be found in my online Champagne Shabby shop.
Take a look at the legs! I painted them with Posh Chalk Lemon Gold and Red Carmine mixed with Infusor to create a more rose gold colour. It's hard to tell in the photo how lovely the colour really is.
The sea shell looking appliques on the legs were existing. I added some of the rose gold patina to those initially but didn't like the way it looked so painted over them and left them. Sometimes less is more, right?
